Kathy Griffin

Kathy Griffin  apologized and was fired for her "joke" photo , amid a torrent of anger from people that were  ostensibly on her side (other than her bad taste in this particular matter). Fine. Done and done.

The question is where is the apology or the criticism from the other side for their thousands (literally, thousands) of similar or worse attacks by the rank and file including right wing celebs, and even elected officials?

Then our "pussy grabbing", racist, birther-in-chief trots out his crying son (who he stashes in another city and has already admitted that he has little to do with) and we're supposed to suddenly feel sympathy for him? Where was the sympathy for Sasha and Malia for 8 years of their father being accused of being an illegal POTUS, hung in effigy, treated with a total lack of respect by elected officials, blatantly, and in public, and having to listen to their father daily being called the "N" word. Not to mention the REAL and unprecedented thousands of death threats every day? Oh yeah. They're black kids. Their feelings are irrelevant.
We give the whisper of something that may or may not be a bit off (the firing of Dan Rather comes to mind), and we hang our own out to dry. THEY show far worse judgement, reason, and taste (some of it bordering on treason) and they get elected President, win the state houses, and both the House and the Senate.
Tell me, where do we stand here?

To hell with Kathy Griffin. She made a bad judgement call. She could have done better. A spit in the ocean. But the mirror this incident shines on our nation is shameful. We have embarrassed ourselves again. It's what we do. Save %15 by buying Geico Insurance, it's what they do. Shit on reason, taste, and justice. It's what America does.
