4 "Simple" Steps to Save Humanity
A Few Thoughts on President Obama's Visit to Hiroshima and the Rise of Trump
There are four mindsets, or attributes of humans, currently, that are holding us back and will ultimately wipe us out, or at best, make us live lives unworthy of existence as we know it now. If we cannot rise above these conditions (and I'm fairly sure it's already too late), we run the risk of making the planet unlivable. They are all interconnected, and must all be eradicated, since each one will ultimately give rise to the others.
The real kick in the crotch?
We're not ready to even consider getting rid of them. And it's impossible to accomplish in the time frame we have left.
1. Overpopulation
2. Religion/credulity/ignorance
3. Capitalism/greed/over-consumption
4. Nationalism/patriotism/borders
Four (relatively) simple things we must overcome or cease to exist.
You may think of others. In which case, we would love to hear them. Most, I think, would fall into one of these categories or arise from them.
You may think this list is wrong, and you may have arguments to counter. You might think these attributes are what's going to ultimately save us and make us stronger. You would be wrong. Deadly wrong. But have at it, if you must.
History and science have told us where we're heading, and why. We need to listen.
