Has anybody thought of having a Paranormal convention in Downtown Warren?

How is getting people pissed at you helpful? That makes folks not only not like you, but also what you stand for. Does that make any sense?

Wait a minute. Who's pissed at whom? There is no reason or evidence in psychics. Pointing that out is only proper. I'm not responsible for an irrational person's response to that.

And it's important that people know that the anger is not only NOT one-sided, but that the reasons for it ARE.

"Reason" being the key word, here.

In any reasonable society no one, and I mean NO ONE would believe in psychics. In any just society, they would be illegal. In a society that was both rational and just, there would be no need for laws against them. They wouldn't exist.

I hold that the same holds true for religion.

Oh, my misunderstanding. I thought you were wanting to change things and people's beliefs. But now I know the purpose is to express your anger to make yourself feel better.

I think it's kind of ironic when skeptics get all holier than thou.

Really, being for something is way stronger than being against something. Such as your reason rally. Why not? It's better to light one candle than to spit in the wind. ;-)

Fraudsters, and the people that believe them do not get to hear often enough that there are people that are aware of the damage they cause, and that they piss some people off. There is no diplomatic way to tell people they are stealing or being stolen from. You seem to feel a little sensitive here. What's the problem?

"There is no diplomatic way to tell people they are stealing or being stolen from. " PARTICULARLY when they cloak themselves in undefinable qualities and irrationally claim they are doing it out of love and concern for others' well-being. There is just no "nice" way to approach it. Even couched in the most delicate of diplomacy, they feel an attack, and they get defensive (and offensive. I was called "ignorant").

Oh, no, you don't. You're trying to make "the problem" mine. I'm not biting. ;-)

When you shake a wasp's nest, wear a net or be prepared to be stung. Well, do you blame them? They're trying to have a bit of fun and you come and try to mess it up. Don't try and be a savior. If people get scammed, they will eventually learn by experience. Did you ever listen to anyone who tried to tell you that what you thought was right, was wrong? Like right now, like I'm telling you? You didn't like it, did you?

It didn't bother me at all. Because I know I'm right, and you're wrong. :-)

No. I understand. But we get nowhere if people live in a veil of ignorance that does demonstrable harm, and aren't called on it. At least from where I sit. And I'm prepared to be "stung". And we all have a net. It's the space, the removal of proximity, provided by the internet. And it's the fact that people can reason given the chance.

See? That's what I mean. That was a cheap shot I took. And you called me on it.

Touché. :-)
