Scarborough vs Hannity, and Himself

Joe Scarborough is still problematic coming, as he does, from a conservative "Reagan Republican" bias, but he's trying like hell, on occasion, to be a true, moderate, rational person. Other times, not so much. But his take on the ridiculous, and hateful, and stupid comments from Sean Hannity deserve a bit of recognition.

“It seems we keep hearing that Trayvon had it coming because he had pot in his system,” Scarborough said on his show, ‘Morning Joe.’ “I keep hearing this from people like Sean Hannity and others on the right. Really? Is that the new standard? Would we like to go across college campuses in America and tell all white boys that if they have marijuana in their system then they are fair game?”

I have no interest in the details of the trial. As I've said before, it was a joke, an obscene travesty. But the peripheral circus show is showing legs. It will be playing in our "town" and sold out for quite awhile, so to speak.

So, I'm torn on Scarborough. He's pretty well torn, himself, I think. But he needs to realize that Hannity is a creation of his party, his philosophy, his people. He has more amends to make.
